Understanding ADHD
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, organization, and impulse control. It can cause difficulty completing tasks, forgetfulness, restlessness, or trouble focusing during work, school, or prayer. Many people with ADHD also experience frustration, low self-confidence, or anxiety from feeling “scattered” or misunderstood. Symptoms present before 12 years old and are associated with learning difficulties, behavioral issues and special educational plans.
With accurate diagnosis and the right treatment, individuals can channel their creativity, energy, and potential in healthy, purposeful ways. ADHD does not define who you are — it simply requires understanding, structure, and support.
A Catholic approach to focus and attention
At Metamorphic Psychiatry, our care goes beyond symptoms. As a Catholic psychiatrist, Dr. Duk views each patient as a whole person — body, mind, and soul — created with dignity and purpose.
Faith reminds us that every person has unique gifts; with proper guidance, those with ADHD can transform distraction into creativity, and impulsivity into enthusiasm guided by virtue and discipline.
We integrate Catholic values with clinical treatment, helping patients cultivate not only focus and consistency, but also patience, grace, and self-compassion.
